What it is
The Cyprus Numismatic Society hosts a programme of lectures, exchanges, and exhibitions throughout the academic year, covering ancient Cypriot coinage (the city-kingdoms of Salamis, Paphos, Kition, Marion, Idalion, and Kourion), Hellenistic and Roman Cypriot issues, Byzantine and Lusignan coinage, Venetian-period and Ottoman-period material, British Cyprus coinage (1878–1960), Republic of Cyprus coinage (1960–2008), and Cypriot euro coinage (2008–).

Venue: typically the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation premises or partner academic venues in Nicosia.

Why it matters for collectors
The Cyprus Numismatic Society is the focal point for Cypriot collector activity and the principal local channel for serious research on Cypriot coinage.
